A Brief History of the Blue Ocean Movement

Blue Ocean started in 2012 with a small number of young adults desperately praying for revival in Vancouver. Since then, Blue Ocean has hosted regular praise & worship nights, intercessory prayer meetings, workshops, and fellowship events for young adults in the Vancouver area (except during the COVID-19 pandemic). Currently, the movement has active communities in Canada and South Korea, with many members joining our online ministries from Cambodia, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the United States.

Blue Ocean has a focus on young adults, because it is this generation that needs to rise up as the next leaders. The world desparately needs God-fearing men and women to take a stand for Biblical truth, leading Christians and non-Christians alike to build societies that meet God’s standards, not human ones. Just as Jesus commanded, Christians must strive to become disciples and make disciples of others – calling for much greater commitment than attending Sunday service. It’s not enough to give one day to God and live the rest of the week like anybody else: we need to live transformative lives that lead others to do the same. What’s more is that we cannot do this without community and without the right resources. Blue Ocean works to satisfy this need by providing both the community and the resources.

Online Ministry

Since the pandemic, we’ve been looking to establish a stronger online presence. We recognize that many souls were lost during that period as people were disconnected from their spiritual communities, and we want to help prevent that from happening. Blue Ocean has a wealth of Christian resources, mentors, and missions available through a broad network of affiliated ministries, and there has never been a better time to reach out to the people all over the world. We’re looking partner with more organizations, movements, churches, and individuals to establish God’s Kingdom here on Earth.
